JKD London is proud to be part of a truly special gathering of the Jeet Kune Do community in April 2027.
Presented by The Jun Fan Journal and World of Martial Arts, the Jeet Kune Do Symposium 2027 brings together six highly respected instructors representing the lineages of six of Bruce Lee’s original students for three days dedicated to training, learning, philosophy and self-discovery.
And JKD London’s own Sifu Lak Loi, representing the lineage of Sifu Tim Tackett, is honoured to be one of the six instructors teaching at this landmark event.
This Is More Than a Martial Arts Seminar
Jeet Kune Do has never simply been about accumulating techniques.
At its deepest level, it asks us to investigate, question, adapt and ultimately discover our own truth through experience.
This symposium has been created in that spirit.
☯ History & Evolution
☯ Physical & Philosophical
☯ Tradition & Individual Expression
☯ Learning from Others & Discovering Yourself
Rather than promoting one “correct” interpretation of JKD, attendees will have the rare opportunity to experience six different perspectives on Bruce Lee’s martial art and philosophy.
Six Hours of Training. Six Lectures. Six Perspectives.
Each instructor will deliver a one-hour physical JKD training session, sharing an aspect of the art they are particularly passionate about.
They will also deliver a one-hour symposium lecture, exploring their personal journey and perspectives on JKD’s history, mindset, philosophy, self-actualisation and application to everyday life.
By the end of the weekend, every participant will have experienced all six instructors.
12 hours. Six teachers. Multiple perspectives. One purpose: growth.
Your Instructors
Chris Kent — Dan Inosanto lineage
James Ter Beek — Ted Wong lineage
Sifu Lak Loi — Sifu Tim Tackett lineage
Martin O’Neill — Taky Kimura lineage
Mick Shore — Larry Hartsell lineage
Andy Gibney — Richard Bustillo lineage
Substitute Instructor: John Carrigan — Richard Bustillo lineage
Each brings something different.
The purpose isn’t to decide which approach is best.
Experience them. Explore them. Learn from them. Then continue developing your own.
No Politics. No Ranking. No Ego.
This isn’t about schools, styles, certificates or status.
It is about bringing martial artists together with an open mind and an empty cup.
Whether you’ve spent decades studying JKD or are earlier in your journey, the invitation is the same:
Learn. Question. Explore. Adapt. Grow.
Because there is no final arrival point in martial arts or life.
There is only the continuing journey towards greater understanding and self-actualisation.
An Extraordinary Setting
The weekend takes place at Moor Hall, a beautiful 19th-century manor house situated in the picturesque village of Cookham, near Maidenhead.
With the training, lectures, accommodation, bar, Saturday evening buffet and after-dinner speeches all centred around one venue, this is an opportunity to completely immerse yourself in the JKD experience and spend time with members of the wider JKD community.
What’s Included?
Your symposium registration includes all six physical training sessions and six lectures, together with a commemorative event polo shirt, brochure and badge, plus the Saturday evening buffet and after-dinner speeches with a guest speaker.
EARLY BIRD: £180 — until 1 February 2027
STANDARD: £200 — thereafter, subject to availability
Accommodation and breakfast are available separately at £80 per night, subject to availability.
Only 66 Places
This is deliberately an intimate gathering.
Just 66 attendee places will be available, alongside the six instructors, and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
And importantly, this weekend isn’t only about what we receive.
All profits from the event will be donated to Prostate Cancer Research. ❤️
We will come together to develop ourselves while helping contribute towards something greater than ourselves.
Empty Your Cup ☯
This is a rare opportunity to step beyond the boundaries of individual schools and lineages and experience JKD through multiple perspectives.
Honour the past without becoming bound by it.
Train fully in the present.
Remain open to what you might discover.
And continue evolving your own way.
Come with an open mind.
Come with an empty cup.
And leave with a broader understanding not only of Jeet Kune Do — but perhaps of yourself.
